The mission of ST. MARY’S ALTAR SOCIETY is to;

    • maintain the church altar and related items as recommended by our Pastor,
    • provide opportunities for meaningful Christian fellowship within our church community,
    • bear witness to our faith through loving works of kindness in our neighboring communities and
    • enhance the spiritual life of our members while promoting a loving, supportive environment

St. Mary’s Altar Society meets once a month on the second Tuesday in the parish hall at 6 PM. There are no special qualifications to join our group, only a love of God and community and a desire to contribute. A warm welcome will be extended to all ladies interested in joining The Altar Society. The Altar Society assists with many church functions such as Sunday coffee and special parish dinners. There are many committees functioning within the Altar Society:

  • Altar Care – maintaining the cleanliness of the Altar and the Altar Linens – Contact Elaine Carroll for more information 936-582-2691
  • Funeral Receptions – arranging and manning luncheons following funerals at the church – contact Nancy Smith for more information 936-588-4100
  • Prayer Blankets – Sew small blankets blessed by the parish priest and distributed to critically ill children – contact Pat Pearson for more information 936-588-2324
  • The Corner Shoppe – staffing of the church religious articles store on Sunday mornings. Contact Ethel Barbosossa 936-588-4053
  • Works of Mercy – participate in activities to serve the needs of parishioners who have physical and spiritual needs. Contact Joyce Adams 936-583-6978
