The St. Mary’s/St. Joseph’s ACTS Retreat is a 3-day, 3-night weekend retreat beginning on a Thursday evening and concludes after 11:30 am Sunday mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with a parish lunch celebration. The retreat invites anyone ages 21 and older, of any religion, to encounter the love of Jesus Christ through adoration, community, theology, and service from which the ACTS acronym is derived. Demonstrating discipleship, the retreat is presented by fellow parishioners and uses early church teachings from the ACTS of the Apostles to facilitate retreatants with a deeper connection and relationship with Christ.
The ACTS acronym explains:
Adoration:
Responding to God’s gifts of grace, mercy, and love through prayer and worship.
Community:
Living and participating in the ONE Body of Christ.
Theology:
Deepening our relationship with God to better understand and fulfill his will for our lives.
Service:
Answering the call to discipleship by following the model Jesus Christ gave us.

Jesus teaches us another way: Go out. Go out and share your testimony, go out and interact with your brothers, go out and share, go out and ask. Become the Word in body as well as spirit.
POPE FRANCIS
When freedom does not have a purpose, when it does not wish to know anything about the rule of law engraved in the hearts of men and women, when it does not listen to the voice of conscience, it turns against humanity and society.
POPE JOHN PAUL II
If one has the answers to all the questions – that is the proof that God is not with him. It means that he is a false prophet using religion for himself. The great leaders of the people of God, like Moses, have always left room for doubt. You must leave room for the Lord, not for our certainties; we must be humble.
